About Reason Green:

William Brister's commanding officer was Reason Green. Reason Green was an early Sabine River boatman. The present-day city of Orange, Texas was originally Green’s Bluff, which was named for Reason Green. Reason Green died 11 Feb 1868 in Liberty, Liberty CO, TX at age 68.
