Moses Endicott, American Revolutionary War Patriot

Moses Endicott served in the American Revolution as a private with the North Carolina militia.  In 1777, at the age of 17, he volunteered to serve as a Minute Man from Surry County, N.C.  On March 15, 1781, he and the North Carolina militia formed the first line of defense at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse against the army of Lord Cornwallis. This is the final battle portrayed in “The Patriot”. Cornwallis is reported to have said of the Battle that, “another such victory would destroy the British Army.”  He surrendered seven months later at Yorktown.
