PAUL HUGHES TRACY of Newton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management on May 28 from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Paul was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force upon finishing in the Academy’s fiftieth graduating class. He is shown with President George W. Bush, who was the commencement speaker. The commander-in-chief told Tracy, “Congratulations son, I’m sure your family’s proud. Good luck in the future.”

While attending the Academy, Tracy earned his jump badge with 5 solo freefall jumps, earned glider wings, played intramural rugby, and was a DJ for KAFA—the Academy radio station. He was on the Commandant’s List for military achievement (5 semesters) and Dean’s List (6 semesters).

In 2006, Paul was a cadet training officer for enlisted personnel training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He was honored as top squadron commander in the Academy’s 2007 Basic Cadet Training. He then served as Deputy Group Commander in the Fall of 2007.

Tracy will report for pilot training at Laughlin AFB, Texas in August. He asks for your prayers as he begins active duty service.
